Agency Big Hit Music announced on the 17th on the fan community Weverse, "Suga will fulfill his military duty starting from the upcoming 22nd."

Among BTS members, Suga is the third to fulfill military service, following Jin who enlisted in December last year and J-Hope who enlisted in April this year.

Big Hit Music added, "There will be no separate official events on the start date of service or the day of entering the training center," and "We kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting Suga’s workplace during his alternative service period."

Suga, born in 1993, had his enlistment postponed until the end of this year based on the recommendation of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism under the revised Military Service Act of 2020. However, he announced last month that he completed the cancellation application for the postponement to fulfill his military duty.

Unlike other members, Suga was classified as a social service agent last year. The specific reasons have not been officially disclosed. Previously, Suga underwent suturing surgery in 2020 for a tear in the left posterior labrum, leading to speculation that this might be related.

Big Hit Music emphasized, "Please be cautious to avoid damages from unauthorized use of the artist’s IP (intellectual property) in various tours or package products," and stated, "We will take appropriate measures against such commercial activities."

They continued, "We ask for your unwavering support and love until the day Suga completes his service and returns in good health," and "Our company will also spare no effort in continuously supporting him."

Suga has been active as a rapper and producer in BTS. In April, his first official solo album 'D-DAY' sold over one million copies on the day of release and ranked 2nd on the Billboard main album chart 'Billboard 200.'

Additionally, with this album, he started a solo world tour covering 10 cities worldwide this year, attracting over 300,000 attendees.
