On the 14th, the district issued a statement saying, “The Gwangsan-gu Facilities Management Corporation has lost its ability to self-correct.”

The district pointed out, “The ‘suspect’ who was sentenced to 8 months in prison with a 2-year probation in the first trial for violating the Public Official Election Act on October 1, 2018, was promoted from team leader to director in January 2019.”

It also explained, “In particular, the information of a specific individual caught for drunk driving was deliberately omitted, and official documents were even forged to collectively conceal the criminal facts. Everyone involved has consistently shown an uncooperative attitude during the corporation’s integrity audit investigation.”

The district added, “We can no longer overlook the widespread corruption and abnormalities at the Gwangsan-gu Facilities Management Corporation,” and “We will file a complaint with investigative authorities regarding the deliberate omission of drunk driving records.”

Finally, it emphasized, “Since the launch of the 8th elected administration, efforts have been made for organizational innovation and reform of the Gwangsan-gu Facilities Management Corporation through specific audits, organizational diagnosis research projects, and organizational restructuring,” and “We will proceed with related projects without delay according to laws and regulations so that the Gwangsan-gu Facilities Management Corporation can regain its self-correcting ability and meet the expectations of citizens.”
