On the 12th at 1 PM, Oh Seung-rok, the mayor of Nowon District, attended the '2023 Specialized High School Job Competency Festival' held at the Nowon Children's Theater in Seoul.
‘Specialized high schools’ operate specialized curricula aimed at nurturing talent and professional experts in specific fields. Currently, there are eight such schools in Nowon District: Gyeonggi Mechanical Industry High School, Kwangwoon Artificial Intelligence High School, Future Industry Science High School, Seoul Dongsan High School, Seoul IT High School, Yeongsin Nursing Business High School, Yeomgwang Girls' Meditech High School, and Induk Science and Technology High School.
The district decided to hold the ‘Specialized High School Job Competency Festival’ for students enrolled in these schools. The purpose is to help students choose jobs that match their interests and aptitudes and to strengthen their employment capabilities through job consulting and various experiential programs.
The event was conducted through a keynote lecture and a talk concert, featuring the speaker Andrew Draw, author of ‘Lucky Draw.’ He is an influencer who delivers encouraging messages to young people through videos on self-development and personal branding. In his lecture titled ‘How to Pull the Levers of Life Until You Find Your Own Path,’ he shared his experiences and know-how with the students.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “We planned the specialized high school tailored job competency festival to help students find their true goals and establish a foundation to achieve them. We will spare no support to help students in the educational special zone of Nowon achieve what they desire and to build a foundation for youth activities in the region.”
