Kim Ki-hyun towards Jaurim's Kim Yoon-ah: "There are too many entertainers without common sense"

Congratulatory Address at the Founding Symposium of the Cultural Freedom Movement

Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, said on the 12th, "The monopolization of cultural interests by a small privileged group colluding with certain political and social forces to use the cultural and artistic world as a vanguard of agitation must no longer be repeated."

Kim attended the commemorative symposium for the founding of the Cultural Freedom Movement Corporation held at the Korea Tourism Organization in Jung-gu, Seoul, and stated in his congratulatory speech, "Culture without freedom is dead culture."

In particular, Kim criticized band Jaurim member Kim Yoon-ah for writing on her SNS about the discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant, saying, "She is called a sensible celebrity, but aren't there too many so-called sensible celebrities without any sense?"

He also mentioned actress Kim Gyu-ri (formerly Kim Min-seon) who posted criticism of the Lee Myung-bak government during the mad cow disease controversy involving U.S. beef, saying, "When she was praised as a sensible celebrity for saying 'I'd rather put cyanide in my mouth than eat U.S. beef,' I don't know what kind of sense that was, but I witnessed such a ridiculous incident."

Kim said, "Why do these things happen? I speculate that it is ultimately because of exclusion, stigmatization, and cartels dividing interests among themselves," adding, "Should the singer sisters Noh Sa-yeon be ostracized for visiting the late father of President Yoon Suk-yeol? Should novelist Kim Hoon be verbally abused as 'senile' for writing criticism of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk? We must create a cultural and artistic world where such stigmatization no longer occurs."

He continued, "They pretend to be fighters resisting unjust power, but if they do not even open their mouths about North Korean human rights or the dire situation of North Korean residents, isn't that hypocrisy?"

Earlier, Kim Yoon-ah posted a photo on her Instagram on the 24th of last month with the caption "RIP (Rest in peace) Earth (地球)" and wrote, "I have been engulfed in anger for several days."

She added, "The dystopia of the movie Blade Runner + 4 years is beginning to become reality," and said, "The radioactive rain does not stop, and the scenery of LA in the movie where no light comes through?on a day like today, I think about hell."

On X (formerly Twitter), Kim posted an image showing the water cycle and said, "Middle school science, the water cycle. The problem of marine pollution is not limited to whether we can eat fish and seaweed or not," adding, "By focusing on fish, the worst marine pollution disaster is reduced to a problem of side dish choices, becoming infinitely trivialized."
