‘Songpa Banryeodongmul Hanmadang’ Festival Held Last Year's Event

Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will hold the "Songpa Companion Animal Festival" at the Songpa Dog Playground located in Tancheon Retention Basin from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 16.

With the steady increase of companion families in the area, the district planned the festival for companion families so that pet owners and their dogs can freely run, interact, and create happy memories together. Last year’s "Songpa Companion Animal Festival" was successfully concluded with the participation of 200 pet owners and over 200 companion animals.

Especially this year, the festival is organized to offer a relaxed picnic-like atmosphere with a "food truck" selling coffee and snacks, and a "camping zone" equipped with camping chairs and tables where attendees can enjoy time with their beloved pets.

First, various programs that pet owners and their dogs can enjoy together will be held in the spacious area of Tancheon Retention Basin. Nine experiential programs are prepared, including ▲Dangdang Life Photo Booth ▲Petiquette Adventure ▲Caricature ▲Dog Styling ▲Behavior Correction Counseling, among others.

Also, on the stage set up at the event site, the following will take place: ▲“Wait Champion Contest,” a talent show for companion animals ▲“Challenge! Dangdang Golden Bell,” a quiz contest on pet etiquette and dog knowledge ▲“Mini Dangdang Sports Day,” where owners and dogs run and play together in harmony.

Due to the popularity of the “Wait Champion Contest,” there may be waiting times after on-site registration. For those who wish to participate immediately, it is recommended to make a reservation in advance through the KakaoTalk channel “Songpa-gu Companion Animal Festival.”

On the day of the event, the "Dog Playground" will operate with separate entry times for medium and small dogs (height under 40cm) from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and large dogs from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for safety reasons. However, dogs must be registered and have completed rabies vaccination.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “Through this festival, I hope pet owners and their companion animals can experience interactive and enjoyable activities and have a healing time together. We will continue to strive to promote animal welfare so that residents can spend safe and happy times with their pets.”
