Yeom Tae-young, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeonggi Province, and Lee Kyung-hee, First Deputy Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, are conducting a campaign to reduce disposable products at Gyeonggi Convergence Town on the 6th.
Organizations residing in Gyeonggi Convergence Town have come together to promote an eco-friendly work culture without disposable products.
On the 6th, marking Resource Circulation Day, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, Gyeonggi Provincial Government, and Gyeonggi Provincial Council held a joint campaign at the basement level 1 entrance to create a disposable-free Gyeonggi Convergence Town.
About 30 participants, including Lee Kyung-hee, 1st Deputy Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, Yeom Tae-young, Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province for Economy, and Kim Jong-seok, Secretary General of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, took part in the campaign organized to promote restrictions on disposable product use and the ban on bringing disposable cups into the buildings of organizations in Gyeonggi Convergence Town.
The participants wore T-shirts with the slogan "Let's Reduce Disposable Products Together" and conducted a disposable product-related O/X quiz event to encourage the interest and voluntary participation of employees within Gyeonggi Convergence Town.
An event official stated, "If public officials take the lead in reducing disposable product use, it is expected that residents will voluntarily change for the environment," adding, "We will continue promotional activities so that residents can also participate in reducing disposable cup usage."
On Environment Day last June, the Provincial Office of Education conducted the 'Eco-Cloud Campaign' at its northern office building. Additionally, from the 1st of this month, a complete ban on bringing disposable products into the office buildings has been enforced.
The Provincial Office of Education has established the 'Let's Do It Together 105 Practice Rules,' five practical guidelines for zero disposable product use, and is conducting promotional activities through various channels.
