The Vehicle App Service Contest was jointly hosted by LG Uplus, Hyundai Mobis, and Obigo to discover new services leading the connected car market. LG Uplus selected three final winners through a thorough evaluation of business feasibility, creativity, and technicality among submissions in seven categories including ▲video ▲travel ▲games ▲finance. The grand prize winner received 100 million KRW, and the two excellence award winners each received 50 million KRW.

The honor of the grand prize went to 'Vestella Lab,' a smart city and autonomous driving V2I solution specialist company operating 'Watchmile' (an indoor parking lot navigation service). It operates the world's first service that allows real-time checking of parking occupancy status and route guidance even in indoor parking lots, which are GPS shadow areas. It is known to reduce the time drivers spend parking by more than 70%. Watchmile has been proactively introduced and utilized at major landmarks such as Incheon International Airport, Seoul Station parking lot, and KINTEX.

'Autopedia,' which won an excellence award, operates 'Doctor Car,' an automotive aftermarket management platform. Doctor Car is a platform where vehicle experts with over 10 years of maintenance experience conduct one-on-one real-time consultations with customers, analyze the causes of vehicle problems, prevent excessive repairs, and assist in reasonable vehicle maintenance.

'Invisible Idea,' the operator of 'Through,' also won an excellence award. Through is a service that supports smart ordering for drivers, allowing ordinary cafes and restaurants to be used like a drive-thru. Customers order food through the app, set the arrival time, and then visit the store to receive their ordered items just like a drive-thru.

Choi Taek-jin, Vice President and Head of LG Uplus Enterprise Division, said, "LG Uplus, Hyundai Mobis, and Obigo will support the commercialization of each winning company's products as vehicle app services."
