Volleyball player Lee Da-young demanded an apology from her former team member (Heungkuk Life) Kim Yeon-koung, asking her to acknowledge sexual harassment and power abuse.

On the 5th, Lee Da-young wrote on Instagram, "If you acknowledge the repeated sexual harassment in the national team, the bullying, workplace violence, and power abuse at Heungkuk Life, and post an official apology, I will keep the one thing you most want to hide a secret forever." Lee Da-young has been continuing her accusations against Kim Yeon-koung since August 14. On August 18, she claimed that she had made an extreme attempt because of Kim Yeon-koung, and the next day, she complained about being bullied, saying, "She treated me like a bar girl in front of the kids."

Also, on August 23, she posted an image of the 'Workplace Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Manual,' saying, "Sometimes words are sharper than knives and the wounds last longer." On the 28th, she shared a report on human rights violations of players, asking, "Did KOVO (Korea Volleyball Federation) verify the facts with that player regarding sexual harassment and workplace violence?"

Lee Da-young participated with Kim Yeon-koung in the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games and the 2019 FIVB (International Volleyball Federation) Women's Volleyball World Cup held in Japan.

The discord between Lee Da-young and Kim Yeon-koung was first raised in 2021. At that time, Lee Da-young posted consecutive messages without mentioning a specific target, such as "The person who bullies may find it fun, but the person being bullied wants to die" and "It will explode soon," leading to speculation that these posts were aimed at Kim Yeon-koung.

Subsequently, Lee Da-young was embroiled in a school violence controversy, was expelled from the team, and continued her career in overseas leagues.
