According to Starbucks Korea on the 5th, more than 1 million Trenta size beverages have been sold at over 1,800 Starbucks stores nationwide as of that day.
The Trenta is an extra-large size of 30 ounces (887ml), boasting 1.5 times the volume of the previously largest size, Venti.
Originally offered only at Starbucks stores abroad, Starbucks Korea is offering it as a limited-time sale until the 30th of this month to commemorate its 24th anniversary, responding to continuous requests from Korean customers.
Starbucks Korea plans to review customer feedback and sales trends to decide whether to make it a regular menu item, but no final decision has been made yet.
The menu includes four types: Cold Brew, Grapefruit Honey Black Tea, Strawberry Acai Lemonade Starbucks Refresher, and Iced Coffee.
Additionally, the 'Siren Trenta Cold Cup,' a big-sized cold cup that can hold the Trenta size, is also on sale. The Siren Trenta Cold Cup is made from eco-friendly bioplastic material called Ecogen and comes with decorative stickers that allow customers to customize their tumblers freely according to their preferences.
A Starbucks representative said, "Consumers who value cost-effectiveness tend to purchase large volumes of beverages at once and share them, a consumption pattern especially common among young consumers," adding, "Since this summer has been unusually hot, many people seem to be seeking to drink plenty of cold beverages."
