LG Uplus announced on the 5th that it has signed a business agreement with Hoban Construction to establish electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Earlier this year, LG Uplus established a dedicated organization under the CEO called the ‘EV Charging Business Unit’ and launched the electric vehicle charging service ‘VoltUP,’ marking its entry into the electric vehicle charging business.
VoltUP is a service composed of electric vehicle chargers, an app platform capable of charging reservations and full-charge notifications, a 24-hour monitoring system, and a customer service center.
Through this agreement, LG Uplus will build and operate VoltUP at Hoban Construction’s upcoming apartment complex ‘Hoban Summit’ and will also engage in the development of new technology solutions related to chargers.
The two companies have agreed to strategically review ESG management and joint marketing in the future and cooperate to build an electric vehicle charging environment based on data reflecting various variables.
Hyun Jun-yong, head of LG Uplus’s EV Charging Business Unit, said, "This partnership not only provides the best service to Hoban Construction residents but also demonstrates a new direction for establishing electric vehicle charging infrastructure. We plan to continuously develop ways to enhance customer experience through cooperation with Hoban Construction."
