Goseong-gun Holds Gender Equality Commemoration Event for Working and Caring Together

On the 4th, the Goseong-gun Women's Association held the '2023 Goseong-gun Gender Equality Week Commemoration Event' at the Agricultural Technology Center auditorium, with about 240 participants including contributors to gender equality promotion, members of women's organizations, and residents.

Goseong-gun Holds Gender Equality Commemoration Event for Working and Caring Together Goseong County held an event to commemorate Gender Equality Week.

The event was attended by Lee Sang-geun, the county governor, Choi Eul-seok, chairman of the Goseong-gun Council, provincial assembly members Baek Su-myeong and Heo Dong-won, and Education Director Lee Mi-sook.


In particular, the event raised interest through a flag-bearing ceremony pledging to realize gender equality in daily life and to promote cooperation and solidarity among affiliated organizations, as well as a performance themed on a gender-equal Goseong where people work and care together. Following the introduction of a video showcasing the activities of the Goseong-gun Women's Association, depicting men and women working and caring together across various social strata and engaging in community service, 34 residents who made significant contributions to women's social participation and the spread of gender equality culture were recognized and awarded.


Governor Lee said, "The Goseong-gun Women's Association, led by Chairwoman Kim Myeong-ok and its members, consistently care warmly for neighbors in need within the community, provide generous support, and volunteer, helping our county to transform into a women-friendly city where not only women but all residents live comfortably and happily. I hope we will continue to work together to create a gender-equal Goseong where people work and care together."


Kim Myeong-ok, chairwoman of the Goseong-gun Women's Association, stated, "We will strive to expand women's participation in various local policies and decision-making processes, and to promote a culture of gender equality in daily life through interest, participation, cooperation, and checks and balances in county administration, leading the way to make Goseong a better place for everyone to live."
