‘Mukbang’ YouTuber Woong-i (real name Lee Byung-woong, 26), who was embroiled in controversy over dating violence, shared an update after about seven weeks.
On the 2nd, Woong-i uploaded a video titled "Providing an Update on the Current Situation" on his YouTube channel. This video is his first upload since the video titled "Things I Couldn't Say Until Now... I’m Speaking Out" on June 14.

In the video, Woong-i appeared wearing a black suit and began by saying, "I was sued by my ex-girlfriend last April for trespassing and dating violence. These issues were reported in YouTube news articles and the media."
He continued, "In a previous video, I mentioned that the case was resolved with a summary indictment and a fine. However, I was recently informed by the prosecution that it is not a summary indictment with a fine, but the case is still under review." He promised, "I will definitely update you on the results later."
He also revealed, "Additionally, I confirmed that my ex-girlfriend filed charges against me for sexual crimes in three different cases."
Woong-i added, "On the day of the dating violence incident, the charge was actually for attempted rape and injury, along with distribution of sexual photos and sexual harassment?three charges in total."
Furthermore, he emphasized, "I sincerely cooperated with the Gangnam Police Station investigation. I was asked to submit my phone, which I did for nearly a month, and I received a result of no charges."

From now on, I will act more maturely and ensure that such unfortunate incidents do not happen to my fans," adding, "Next time, I will come back with a brighter image."
Woong-i’s YouTube channel, which had over 1.2 million subscribers, saw a sharp decline following the dating violence controversy, with about 916,000 subscribers as of the 3rd.
