Visit of the Director of Disease Control and Prevention Agency to Seongbuk-gu to Check Quarantine Response System... Seongbuk-gu Strengthens and Maintains Response for Stable Management of High-Risk Facilities and Infection-Vulnerable Groups
Seongbuk-gu, together with Ji Young-mi, Director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, inspected the COVID-19 quarantine response system and infection control status firsthand by visiting Seongbuk-gu Public Health Center and Seongbuk Cham Nursing Hospital on the 29th.
This field visit was conducted to assess the management status of high-risk groups and to inspect the local government's quarantine response system in line with the transition to the 4th phase of COVID-19.
Ahead of the transition of COVID-19 to a 4th-level infectious disease, Seongbuk-gu is strengthening its response to high-risk groups to ensure thorough measures. In particular, to ensure stable responses to COVID-19 cluster outbreaks in infection-vulnerable facilities and to protect and intensively manage high-risk groups, a joint dedicated response team has been formed and is currently operating. The dedicated response team cooperates with infection-vulnerable facilities, Seoul city, and quarantine authorities to share information on confirmed cases, quickly grasp on-site situations, establish investigation plans, and carry out timely response measures.
On this day, Director Ji Young-mi inspected the on-site response system with the head of Seongbuk-gu Public Health Center, the dedicated response team, and officials from Seoul’s Infectious Disease Management Division, and confirmed the difficulties on the ground, including support measures for infection prevention among high-risk groups, through a meeting with medical staff at Seongbuk Cham Nursing Hospital. A Seongbuk-gu official stated, “Through the visit of the Director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, the district’s efforts, which prioritize the safety of Seongbuk residents in the prevention and management of infectious diseases in infection-vulnerable facilities, have shone. We will continue relentless efforts to prevent and respond to infectious diseases and do our best to protect the health of our residents.”
