Yoon Jae-ok "Must Review Through Settlement, National Audit, and Budget Examination Process"
Kim Ki-hyun "To Defeat the Democratic Party, Must Present Future Vision and Livelihood Issues"
On the 28th, the People Power Party pledged at a workshop held at the Incheon International Airport Corporation Talent Development Center to swiftly complete the Yoon Suk-yeol administration's three major reforms (labor, education, and pensions) and national agenda through the upcoming September regular National Assembly session, and to use this as a stepping stone to secure victory in next year's general election.
Yoon Jae-ok, the floor leader of the People Power Party, said in his opening remarks at the '2023 People Power Party National Assembly Members Workshop' held that day, "The presidential election was not easy, but as the ruling party in the second year of administration facing a majority opposition party, nothing has been easy," adding, "In this context, we prepared this workshop today to properly prepare for the regular National Assembly session and to once again reflect on the Yoon Suk-yeol administration's national goals, which are our original intention."
Floor Leader Yoon evaluated, "The opposition is trying to unilaterally push through problematic bills that even their own government did not pursue, and they persistently engage in fearmongering and agitation over contaminated water, disregarding the livelihoods of fishermen and fishery workers," adding, "As a result, it is very regrettable that the three major reforms, which are key national agenda items, are not progressing at the desired pace."
He continued, "The three major reforms are not just simple national agenda items," saying, "The industrial and labor systems created through rapid industrialization, the baby boom, and exponential growth have now reached the end of their lifespan. Major social safety nets such as the pension system and health insurance system are also facing threats to their sustainability." He added, "To maintain South Korea's competitiveness for the next 50 years and to ensure continuous growth for future generations, completing the three major reforms is a timely mission that must be undertaken regardless of party lines, whether progressive or conservative."
Floor Leader Yoon emphasized that the implementation of the three major reforms and the smooth promotion of the national agenda will lead to continued support for the Yoon Suk-yeol administration and the People Power Party. He said, "Our goal in the upcoming final regular National Assembly session is to approach the people by focusing on their livelihoods and to win the policy competition with the opposition," adding, "Each standing committee must do its best to check the progress of the three major reforms through the settlement of accounts, audit, and budget review processes, and to inform the public of their importance and urgency."

Kim Ki-hyun, the leader of the People Power Party, also urged lawmakers to carry a 'grave sense of responsibility' during this regular National Assembly session. Kim said, "I believe that the most significant responsibility and important mission of this regular session is to earn the trust of the people so that we can achieve a change in the National Assembly and politics in next year's general election," adding, "We will continue to achieve party stability and unity."
He continued, "We will establish stricter moral standards more strongly," and said, "I understand that some have faced difficulties while trying to enforce discipline within the party, but I hope you understand that we must share these difficulties together for the greater success of our party."
Leader Kim expressed the need to build a 'competent and capable party.' He said, "The ruling party cannot win the general election simply by winning verbal or power struggles against the Democratic Party," adding, "We must present a future vision and solve livelihood issues. That is the destiny of the ruling party, and achieving that is the only way to win the general election."
