LG Uplus and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) signed a "Short-form Production and Win-win Cooperation Support Business Agreement" on the 25th at LG Science Park in Magok, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, agreeing to provide safety and health content to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through the agency's data room.
The content provided by LG Uplus and KOSHA consists of over 150 pieces on topics such as work safety guides, telecommunications industry accident cases, and health content. Currently, LG Uplus has produced 100 pieces, and the remaining 50 or so will be produced in cooperation with KOSHA after the business agreement. Providing safety and health content in short-form format is a first in the telecommunications industry. The 100 pieces produced by LG Uplus are under one minute in length and adopt a webtoon format, receiving high satisfaction in surveys conducted among internal employees.
Following the recent announcement of the Serious Accident Reduction Roadmap by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the importance of risk assessments involving direct worker participation and TBM (Toolbox Meetings, brief safety briefings conducted by workers on-site) has emerged. However, SMEs face difficulties in conducting their own safety training due to financial constraints and lack of content production capabilities.
In this situation, LG Uplus decided to alleviate the difficulties of SMEs by cooperating with KOSHA for win-win collaboration.
Through this agreement, LG Uplus and KOSHA expect to achieve effects such as ▲enhancing industrial accident prevention within telecommunications industry partners and small workplaces lacking safety and health materials ▲realizing social value of win-win cooperation between large and small enterprises through free content sharing ▲budget savings through free support and joint development of safety and health content ▲securing content diversity in the telecommunications field where content production is insufficient ▲and improving work efficiency related to content production and distribution.
Kim Geon-woo, Chief Safety and Environment Officer (Senior Executive Vice President) of LG Uplus, said, “Through this agreement, we expect to assist telecommunications partners and small to medium-sized business owners and workers who are struggling to establish self-regulatory prevention systems following the Serious Accident Punishment Act,” adding, “We will continue to carry out various activities to prevent accidents and disasters to ensure the safety of workers.”
