Pet care education to create a pet-friendly city will be operated.
Busan City announced that from September 5 to November 4, 2023, the ‘2023 Busan City Pet Care Citizen Education’ will be held at the Busan Gyeongsang National University Pet Education and Culture Center.
The pet care citizen education is a dog-accompanying education program designed to reduce conflicts between pet owners and non-pet owners and to spread mature pet etiquette and culture through proper socialization education of pets as the number of people raising pets increases.
The lectures consist of ▲basic pet care education and ▲dog behavior correction education.
In the basic pet care education, participants can receive training on basic manners, toileting, and hygiene management from pet experts.
In the dog behavior correction education, programs to correct problem behaviors such as barking, separation anxiety, and aggression in dogs will be conducted.
The program is held once a week for two weeks, targeting pet owners residing in Busan, with a total of 15 sessions and 30 classes, and up to 15 participants can join each class.
Applications can be made through the Busan Gyeongsang National University Pet Education and Culture Center website or by phone.
Participants will be recruited until the class capacity is full, and the course is free of charge.
Kim Byung-gi, Director of the Marine and Fisheries Bureau of Busan City, said, “Through this education, we expect to create a mature pet care culture and realize harmonious coexistence between pet owners and non-pet owners,” adding, “We ask for the interest and participation of citizens.”
