Gyeonggi Office of Education Trains 200 Key Secondary Teachers in 'Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment' Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will train 200 core teachers for middle and high school curricula, instruction, and evaluation.


The Office of Education announced on the 25th that on the 26th of this month and the 2nd of next month, it will conduct core teacher training courses for secondary education curricula separately for middle and high schools at Seoul National University Siheung Campus.


The training focuses on developing the capacity to comprehensively understand changes in curricula, instruction, and evaluation.


The main training for middle school core teachers includes ▲ key changes in the 2022 revised middle school curriculum ▲ operation and utilization of school autonomous time ▲ emphasis on subject curricula for in-depth learning ▲ directions for student evaluation to cultivate competencies ▲ utilization of the 4th generation education information system (NAIS).


The main training for high school core teachers includes ▲ design and operation models of semester-based curricula that expand students' subject choices ▲ enhancement of understanding of the 2022 revised subjects ▲ support for the field implementation of the achievement evaluation system ▲ understanding the semester-based NAIS operation manual.


Core teachers will serve as regional and subject-specific training instructors and consultants for each of the 25 education support offices. They will also support customized training to foster schools' future-oriented curriculum design, operation, and instructional and evaluation capacities.


Kim Yoon-gi, Director of Curriculum Policy at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "Core teachers will be reliable supporters in curriculum operation and instruction evaluation to cultivate students' future competencies and basic literacy. We will continue to actively strive to systematically enhance teachers' curriculum literacy and instructional and evaluation capacities."
