Vote on Seoul City's 'M Voting' website and 'M Voting' mobile app by September 5
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that resident voting for the selection of the 2024 Resident Participatory Budget projects will be conducted until September 5.
The resident voting was prepared to gather diverse opinions from residents and decide on projects necessary for the community.
The scale of the 2024 Geumcheon-gu Resident Participatory Budget projects is a total of 1.5 billion KRW. It is divided into ‘Resident Proposal Type’ projects (900 million KRW), where residents directly propose needed projects, and ‘Resident Cooperation Type’ projects (600 million KRW), which are discovered through public discussions by the Resident Autonomy Committee and Cooperation Council.
To discover ‘Resident Proposal Type’ projects, Geumcheon-gu held a two-month public contest starting in April and collected 185 proposed projects. After review by the relevant departments and evaluation by the Resident Participatory Budget Committee, a total of 27 projects were selected as candidates for resident voting.
Additionally, to discover ‘Resident Cooperation Type’ projects, through public discussions by the Resident Autonomy Committee and Cooperation Council, a total of 11 projects (5 from the Resident Autonomy Committee and 6 from the Cooperation Council) were selected as candidates for resident voting.
Any Geumcheon-gu resident, or workers or students located in Geumcheon-gu, can participate in the resident voting. Voting can be done on the Seoul ‘mVoting’ website or the ‘mVoting’ mobile app.
For the ‘Resident Proposal Type’ voting, voters select a total of 9 projects, choosing 1 to 2 projects from each of the five categories: ▲ Transportation & Housing ▲ Welfare & Women ▲ Economy, Culture & Tourism ▲ Parks & Environment ▲ Education & Youth. For the ‘Resident Cooperation Type’ voting, voters select a total of 4 projects, choosing 2 projects from each of the two categories: ▲ Resident Autonomy Committee proposed projects ▲ Cooperation Council proposed projects.
The 2024 Resident Participatory Budget projects will be finalized at the ‘Geumcheon-gu Resident Participatory Budget General Assembly’ scheduled for September.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “We ask for your great interest and participation in the resident voting so that projects essential to our neighborhood can be reflected in the budget.”
