Gangseo-gu, Recruiting Participants for the Second Half of 2023 Community Sports Classes

A lifestyle sports class that anyone from elementary school students to seniors can easily participate in will be held.


Gangseo-gu, Seoul announced that it is recruiting participants for the '2023 Second Half Lifestyle Sports Class' until the 29th.


The lifestyle sports class is an exercise program operated by the district to help people of all ages maintain their health and improve their quality of life through regular exercise.


The courses offered in the second half include 8 sports?such as calisthenics, inline skating, tennis, women's futsal, cycling, golf, and bowling?totaling 17 classes, running from September to November, and are easy for beginners to join.


First, the 'Calisthenics' class, which anyone can join easily every morning in casual attire without prior registration, will be held at six parks including Ujangsan Neighborhood Park, Banghwa Neighborhood Park, and Sumyeongsan Neighborhood Park.


'Inline Skating,' which is good for children's balance and muscle development, will recruit 15 students each for lower and upper elementary school grades and will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at Banghwa Neighborhood Park.


The cycling class will be held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the public bicycle practice area located at the entrance of Yukgapmun in Banghwa-dong, recruiting a total of 30 participants.


Women's futsal, which has recently gained popularity through the entertainment show 'Goal Ddaerineun Geunyeodeul,' will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at Gangseo Gaehwa Futsal Field, recruiting a total of 20 participants.


Detailed information such as the number of recruits and operation locations for all sports including golf and bowling can be found on the Gangseo-gu website under Notices/News.


The recruitment period is until 5 p.m. on the 29th, and applicants can apply by signing up on the Gangseo-gu public sports facilities website and selecting their desired sport under the lifestyle sports program application menu.


If the number of applicants exceeds the recruitment quota, participants will be selected through a computerized lottery.


The district will announce the selected participants on the website on the 30th and will also notify them individually via text message. A district official said, "We expect the lifestyle sports classes to bring vitality to residents' lives and help improve their health," adding, "Since anyone can easily participate, we hope many residents join and enjoy exercising."
