18 Types of Currency Exchange Preferential Rates Effective
Benefit Period Extended Until Year-End
Hanacard's overseas travel service platform, Travelog, has surpassed 2 million subscribers. Various benefits, including preferential foreign exchange fees, are also increasing the market share of overseas check cards.
Hanacard announced on the 23rd that the number of Travelog service subscribers exceeded 2 million just over a year after its launch. This doubled in just three months since reaching 1 million subscribers in May. This is attributed to the effect of revamping the Hanamoney application (app) centered on Travelog for the vacation season. The cumulative foreign exchange amount also exceeded 550 billion KRW.
To commemorate this, Hanacard is extending the period of free foreign exchange fees for 18 currencies until the end of this year, the first of its kind in Korea. The currencies of ▲United States (USD) ▲Japan (JPY) ▲Europe (EUR) ▲United Kingdom (GBP) are subject to a permanent 100% preferential exchange rate benefit, while ▲Canada (CAD) ▲Australia (AUD) ▲Singapore (SGD) ▲China (CNY) ▲Vietnam (VND) ▲Hong Kong (HKD) ▲Thailand (THB) ▲Philippines (PHP) ▲Indonesia (IDR) ▲Sweden (SEK) ▲New Zealand (NZD) ▲Hungary (HUF) ▲Switzerland (CHF) ▲Czech (CZK) have free foreign exchange fees until the end of the year. In addition, events including duty-free shop & communication benefits are planned from next month.
Thanks to Travelog, Hanacard's overseas check card market share has also increased. According to Hanacard, the market share in the first half of this year was 29.33%, up 10.25 percentage points compared to the first half of last year. In the past month, when overseas travel became full-scale, it rose to 33.4%.
Meanwhile, Hanacard also announced the results of analyzing data from Travelog members.
