Gwangju Bank announced on the 17th that it conducted the ‘Dada Camp (Diverse Multicultural Camp)’ for 50 children from multicultural families in the Honam region from the 7th to the 10th.
This camp served as the first step of JB Financial Group’s core social contribution projects for the second half of the year, providing children from multicultural families, who are on summer vacation, with opportunities to explore career paths through various cultural experiences such as financial education, an English village experience, and a visit to the National Gwangju Science Museum.
About 20 members of the ‘Seed Volunteer Group,’ composed of JB Financial Group employees and related personnel, participated to spend meaningful time with the children from multicultural families.
In particular, the ‘Multicultural Special Lecture’ invited singer ‘Kangnam,’ who recently naturalized as a Korean citizen, as a special guest to give a lecture on the theme of ‘Overcoming Cultural Differences and Living as a Korean.’ The diverse programs conducted with the children received great responses.
Jung Hyojun, a 6th grader at Gwangju Hana Jungang Elementary School, said, “Thank you for creating a camp where we can enjoy learning about finance, English, and science,” and added, “I want to introduce the camp to my friends so they can come together.”
Ko Byungil, President of Gwangju Bank, stated, "We will continue to provide timely support to underprivileged groups in the region, such as improving and supporting study rooms, supporting multicultural youth, and supporting young adults preparing for independence, and actively carry out continuous social contribution activities rather than one-time efforts."
