[Featured Stock] Hyundai Industrial, Silicon Anode Material 'EV Charging Possible in 5 Minutes'... US Investment Firm Spotlighted↑

Hyundai Industrial is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as highlighting the fact that the company invested in a U.S. silicon anode developer amid the competition to secure a leading position by adopting silicon anode materials as the next-generation anode material in the secondary battery industry.

As of 12:58 PM on the 17th, Hyundai Industrial is trading at 7,240 KRW, up 4.02% from the previous day.

According to the industry, major companies such as SK, LG, and POSCO are competing to secure market and technology leadership by adopting 'silicon anode materials' as the next-generation anode material. Graphite has mainly been used as the anode material in existing batteries, but using silicon can easily increase battery density and drastically reduce charging time.

Hana Securities forecasted that the global silicon anode market will grow from $400 million (approximately 534 billion KRW) last year to $28.7 billion (approximately 38.31 trillion KRW) by 2032. Tesla is considering equipping its next-generation battery, the '4680 cylindrical battery,' with silicon anode materials.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Industrial made an equity investment worth $1.4 million in 2021 in Amprius, a secondary battery silicon anode developer.

Amprius is a secondary battery silicon anode developer that possesses silicon anode manufacturing technology applying nanowire technology. It has also attracted attention for its potential collaboration with Tesla.
