Public Project 'Atta Eoreushin Happiness Delivery Has Arrived' Project
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Sangcheol Lee) announced that on August 11th (Friday), at the Gokseong-gun Social Welfare Center, as part of the 2023 Jeollanam-do Social Innovation Contest project titled ‘A(rumdapgo) T(tatteuthan) Eoreusin Haengbokbaedal Watda’ (Beautiful and Warm Senior Happiness Delivery), an education program called ‘Living History of Gokseong and Connecting Hearts, Grandfather, Join Us’ was conducted.
This education program was organized by the Gokseong-gun Senior Citizens Association (President Jeongseop Shim) and collaborated with the Gokseong Cultural Center (Director Junwon Jo). A total of 67 local children attending the Gokseong Regional Child Center, Kkumnarae Regional Child Center, and Dahamkke Care Center, all located in Gokseong-eup, participated.
The education session began with a greeting from Senior Citizens Association President Jeongseop Shim, followed by stories of life wisdom from the head of the Gokseong Senior University, and vivid stories of Gokseong from the director of the Gokseong Cultural Center.
Head of the Senior University, Younggil Go, presented stories filled with life wisdom told by grandfathers, creatively linked with children’s songs to make them easy and enjoyable. Director Junwon Jo of the Gokseong Cultural Center provided an accessible introduction to Gokseong’s history and notable figures through the ‘Living Gokseong Stories,’ creating a time for children to enhance their pride in the local community.
The ‘Living Gokseong Stories’ education was conducted focusing on three residential zones, with a session held on the 1st for children in the Seokgok zone.
The Okgwa zone session will be held on the 18th at Wolpagwan in Okgwa-myeon.
Meanwhile, the Gokseong-gun Senior Citizens Association will continue the ‘Atta Eoreusin Haengbokbaedal Watda!’ project until the end of November this year. In addition to the education program, the project also includes delivering daily necessities to vulnerable groups and checking on the well-being of elderly living alone, sharing love with marginalized neighbors.
A county official expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank the Gokseong-gun Senior Citizens Association for creating a time where adults and children can talk together, share life wisdom, and explore Gokseong’s historical resources.” The official added, “The county will actively support the smooth implementation of education programs and care projects for vulnerable groups.”
