Additional Recruitment of Resident Autonomy Committee Members Completed for Jegidong, Jangan 2-dong, and Imun 1-dong

Education for 34 Applicants of Resident Autonomy Committee Members on August 11-12

From August 11 to 12, Dongdaemun-gu will operate a Resident Autonomy School in the conference room on the second basement floor of Yongdu Cultural Welfare Center.

The Resident Autonomy School is a mandatory essential training (4 hours) that must be completed to serve as a member of the Resident Autonomy Committee. The district conducted additional recruitment of committee members in three neighborhoods (Jegidong, Jangan 2-dong, Imun 1-dong) from June 15 to July 31, and will provide education to a total of 34 applicants.

The training consists of three sessions over 4 hours: ▲Lecture 1: Understanding Resident Autonomy and the Role of Committee Members ▲Lecture 2: Overall Operation of the Resident Autonomy Committee ▲Lecture 3: Agenda Discovery Training and Practice.

This education is composed of theoretical training to enhance understanding of resident autonomy and group practice to allow residents to identify local issues themselves and experience the process of solving them.

After completing the 4-hour Resident Autonomy School training, applicants will be finally selected as committee members through a public lottery by the Committee Selection Committee. They will be appointed as Resident Autonomy Committee members starting September this year and will serve until December 2024.

A district official stated, “We hope this training will help promote active activities for the local community in the future,” and added, “We will continue to provide customized education for committee members after their appointment and strive for substantial resident autonomy operation.”
