Ulsan Ulju-gun Cancels Registration of 24 Freight Truck Parking Lots

Ulsan City’s Ulju-gun conducted a full survey of registered cargo truck parking lots and canceled the registration of 24 parking lots that either had no address or were closed.

This full survey was promoted to prevent traffic accidents caused by cargo trucks illegally parking overnight on roads near apartment complexes or residential areas outside their designated parking lots, and to create a pleasant traffic environment in urban areas.

The survey was conducted over two months from May 8 to June 6, targeting 691 cargo truck parking lots registered in the Ulju area, excluding shared parking lots.

The survey results showed that 46 locations were unsuitable due to reasons such as inability for vehicles to enter or exit, insufficient weeding, or loss of parking lot function due to stored materials.

Accordingly, 24 locations, including 13 that had ceased transportation business and 11 with no actual address, had their registrations canceled according to relevant laws, and the other 22 locations were instructed to secure new parking lots and change their registration accordingly.

An official from Ulju-gun stated, “Through this survey, we will encourage cargo trucks to park in their registered parking lots and do our best to prevent safety accidents by eradicating overnight parking outside parking lots in urban residential areas and roads after midnight.”
