Removal of Proliferating Party Banners Thanks to Typhoon

Seodaemun-gu Prepares for Typhoon by Removing Political Party and Illegal Banners

Application of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Guidelines for Installation and Management of Political Party Banners'

Removal of Proliferating Party Banners Thanks to Typhoon

Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced that it removed political party banners and illegal banners in the area on the 9th to prevent safety accidents caused by the typhoon.

Although political party banners within the display period are legally protected and cannot be removed, according to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Guidelines for Installation and Management of Political Party Banners,' removal can be requested from the respective parties to prevent accidents during weather events such as typhoons.

The district first requested six political parties by phone to voluntarily remove the banners, followed by a formal written notice.

The political parties responded that they would voluntarily maintain the banners and requested that if they were unable to completely remove them due to manpower shortages, the district office should handle the removal.

Accordingly, employees from the district office's advertising management team were dispatched to remove the unmaintained political party banners and illegal banners.

Going forward, the district plans to continue creating a clean and safe urban landscape through continuous on-site patrols and by organizing emergency standby teams during various situations such as weather alerts.
