Mokpo Coast Guard (Chief Kim Hae-cheol) urgently transported three emergency patients from island areas to the mainland during a typhoon warning.
According to Mokpo Coast Guard on the 11th, at around 9:45 a.m. on the 10th, a report was received that patient A (female, in her 80s) suspected of pneumonia accompanied by meningitis on Haedo Island, Sinan County, needed to be transported to a mainland hospital.

The Coast Guard dispatched a patrol vessel to the scene, transported the patient and her guardian to Bokho Pier, and handed them over to the 119 ambulance team.
Then, at 3:01 p.m. on the same day, patient B (in his 80s), suspected of a femur fracture on Bigeumdo Island, Sinan County, was quickly transported to the mainland using a coastal rescue boat.
Additionally, at 3:35 p.m., patient C (female, in her 30s, Filipino), suspected of gastrointestinal and liver diseases in Jodo-myeon, Jindo County, was urgently transported via a patrol vessel.
The three emergency patients transported with the help of the Coast Guard are reported to have received treatment at a large hospital located in Mokpo.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official said, “Despite the worsening weather conditions caused by the typhoon, the Coast Guard will do its best to protect the precious lives of the people.”
Meanwhile, with weather warnings issued due to Typhoon No. 6, the Mokpo Coast Guard transported a total of five emergency patients to the mainland.
