Gyeonggi-do Adjusts 'Emergency Level 3 → Initial Response' Following Typhoon Warning Cancellation Gyeonggi Provincial Government

Gyeonggi Province downgraded the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters response level from 'Emergency Level 3' to 'Initial Response' at 8 a.m. on the 11th following the lifting of the typhoon warning.


As of 7 a.m. that day, the only reported damage in Gyeonggi Province was one case where the steeple of a church in Sangpae-dong, Dongducheon City, collapsed due to strong winds and was temporarily secured.


No casualties or agricultural damage have been reported yet.


With the typhoon advisory lifted across the entire province as of 6 a.m., Gyeonggi Province downgraded the disaster response level, which had been raised to Emergency Level 3 since 9 p.m. on the 9th, and plans to continue assessing any additional typhoon damage.


The province will also sequentially lift access restrictions on 3,924 riverside walking trail entrances, 43 floodplain parking lots, 142 low-water bridges, and 76 riverside roads, which had been controlled by each city and county based on on-site conditions.


Additionally, among the 11 evacuees from 8 households who had been preemptively evacuated (6 households with 8 people in Gyodong, Yeoju; 1 household with 1 person in Geumsa-myeon, Yeoju; and 1 household with 2 people in Sang-myeon, Gapyeong), residents from Geumsa-myeon, Yeoju have returned home. The remaining evacuees will decide on returning home once safety is ensured.


Meanwhile, the typhoon passed through the eastern part of Gyeonggi Province from the previous night until early morning, bringing rainfall of 10 to 20 mm per hour and strong winds of 10 to 27 m/s. The average rainfall in the province was 108.9 mm, with Anseong recording 181 mm and Hwaseong 161 mm.
