Actor Song Kang-ho and director Kim Ji-woon duo are set to appear in theaters this fall.
On the 10th, distributor Barunson E&A announced that the film Geomi Jip (director Kim Ji-woon) will be released during the upcoming Chuseok holiday.
Invited to the non-competitive section of the 76th Cannes Film Festival, Geomi Jip is set in the 1970s and depicts the story of Director Kim (Song Kang-ho), who believes that reshooting only the ending of the completed film Geomi Jip will turn it into a masterpiece. Amidst censorship and the cast and producers who cannot understand the altered content, he pushes forward with filming under nearly maddening conditions.
This film marks the reunion of Song Kang-ho and director Kim Ji-woon since Miljeong (2016). Song Kang-ho plays Director Kim as the central figure, with Im Soo-jung, Oh Jung-se, Jeon Yeo-bin, and Jung Soo-jung forming the ensemble cast.
