Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, Conducts Emergency On-Site Inspection of Disaster-Vulnerable Households Amid Typhoon ‘Khanun’ Approaching

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu (left), is visiting disaster-vulnerable households and Jungnangcheon on the morning of the 10th to check the on-site situation and the status of measures taken.

On the morning of the 10th, Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, conducted an emergency on-site inspection of disaster-vulnerable households and Jungnangcheon Stream in response to the 6th typhoon ‘Khanun’ moving northward toward the Korean Peninsula.

First, Mayor Ryu visited disaster-vulnerable households at risk of landslides, carefully checking for any damage. He also inspected flood-prone areas together with care officials and accompanying partners assigned to assist elderly residents with mobility difficulties living in semi-basement units.

He then visited Jungnangcheon Stream and, anticipating heavy rainfall, ordered continuous on-site patrols and strict access restrictions to prevent damage caused by river flooding.

Additionally, he thoroughly checked the condition of tents, shade structures, and street trees to ensure no damage would occur due to strong winds.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu stated, “We will concentrate all administrative efforts to protect residents safely from the typhoon and minimize local damage. We also ask residents to refrain from going out and to pay close attention to disaster alerts and broadcasts.”
