'Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy' Transformed into Jamboree Venue... Governor Kim Dong-yeon Makes Surprise Visit on the 9th

'Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy' Transformed into Jamboree Venue... Governor Kim Dong-yeon Makes Surprise Visit on the 9th Jamboree members assigned to the Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy are seen forming a circle while holding fans with the Taegeuk pattern on the night of the 9th.

The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters found that the scouts participating in the Scout Jamboree program operated at the Gyeonggi-do Fire School are highly satisfied.

On the 8th, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters conducted the program by dividing about 350 jamboree scouts who entered the Gyeonggi Fire School into eight groups until the 10th.

The scouts enjoyed their time participating in programs provided by the Gyeonggi Fire School, such as fire hose spraying, rope descent, tightrope walking, survival swimming, fire helicopter rescue demonstrations, and safety experiences.

On the afternoon of the 9th, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon made a surprise visit to encourage the scouts.

Oni Yalink, the Acting Ambassador of the Netherlands to Korea, also visited to encourage the scouts and express gratitude to Gyeonggi Fire.

Especially in the evening, a special program with unique features was offered.

At the Fire School’s main stadium, a traditional Nongak band performance took place. As the sound of the Nongak band’s taepyeongso began to play, the scouts ran out to the stadium holding traditional Taegeuk fans they had made themselves, cheering to the lively rhythms and melodies.

During the following Harmony Yard event, all the scouts held hands and danced in a circle. The day’s schedule ended only after a splendid fireworks display and a chicken party.

The scouts, living two per room, quickly became friendly with the staff, exchanging high-fives in many places. Additionally, Gyeonggi Fire deployed a large-scale workforce here, including 50 event staff and 25 interpreters, to carefully take care of the scouts.

Jo Seon-ho, head of the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, said, "The fire programs closely resemble the spirit of scouting and the purpose of jamboree activities. We are doing our best to provide programs with the safety and health of the scouts as the top priority, and the cultural experience on the evening of the 10th will be the highlight of the Fire School experience."

The Fire and Disaster Headquarters deploys safety management personnel and operates ambulance teams at all event sites where jamboree scouts participate in the province. Various programs are also provided at each fire station and safety experience center.
