Cellumed is showing strong performance. As BYD surpassed Tesla to become the global leader in electric vehicle sales in the first half of this year, their partnership has come into the spotlight.
As of 10:42 AM on the 8th, Cellumed is trading at 3,795 KRW, up 2.02% from the previous day.
According to market research firm SNE Research on the 4th, BYD sold approximately 1.287 million electric vehicles globally in the first half of this year, an increase of about 100.1% compared to the same period last year. During the same period, Tesla's sales totaled 889,000 units, up 57.4% from last year.
Additionally, according to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun on the 6th, China surpassed Japan to become the world's largest automobile exporter for the first time on a half-year basis. Having overtaken Germany last year to become the world's second-largest automobile exporting country, China has now also surpassed Japan this year.
According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the number of vehicles exported by major Chinese companies from January to June this year reached 2.14 million units, a 76% increase compared to the same period last year. This figure exceeded Japan's export volume by 120,000 units during the same period. This is the first time that China's export volume has surpassed Japan's on a half-year basis.
Industry insiders analyze that with the Chinese government mobilizing all policies to stimulate domestic demand, especially pouring out support measures related to electric vehicles which have significant consumer impact, the outlook remains bright.
Meanwhile, Cellumed signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) and a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with BYD in December last year to cooperate on second battery replacement batteries and electric two-wheelers, establishing a close partnership.
Subsequently, they signed a main contract with BYD for product development and exclusive supply of electric two-wheelers and replaceable battery packs. The company explained, “This is a meaningful contract securing global exclusive sales rights.”
