Korea Social Investment and SK Eco Engineering announced on the 8th that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) startups.


SK Eco Engineering plans to identify promising startups supported by Korea Social Investment to secure technologies in ESG fields such as carbon neutrality, resource circulation, and eco-friendly smart construction technologies. In particular, they intend to provide opportunities for on-site application at SK Eco Engineering to achieve results. Direct investment will also be considered for promising startups that can create synergy effects.


Oh Dong-ho, CEO of SK Eco Engineering, stated, “We will create synergy with ESG startups in various sectors, including our core business models such as battery, lithium-ion battery separator (LiBS), and hydrogen green energy plants. We aim to become the best high-tech engineering specialized company contributing to global carbon neutrality and building a sustainable future.”


Lee Soon-yeol, CEO of Korea Social Investment, said, “In the face of the worsening climate crisis every year, discovering and nurturing ESG startups in the fields of carbon neutrality and resource circulation is more important than ever. We will strengthen collaboration based on SK Eco Engineering’s expertise and sincerity in ESG management and technology.”

To date, it has executed a total of 63.2 billion KRW in cumulative impact investments across 479 companies.
