Flip4·Fold4 Surpass '970,000 Units'
Approaching Galaxy S23's 1.09 Million Units
Samsung Electronics' Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 have surpassed 1 million units in domestic pre-orders, setting a new record for foldable phones.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 8th that the domestic pre-orders for Flip5 and Fold5, conducted from the 1st to the 7th, totaled 1.02 million units.
This is the highest pre-order record ever for foldable smartphones in South Korea, significantly exceeding last year's 970,000 units of Flip4 and Fold4 within one week, and approaching the 1.09 million pre-orders recorded by the Galaxy S23 series domestically.
Notae-moon, President of Samsung Electronics' MX Business Division, declared at a press briefing on the 28th of last month that more than one out of every three flagship smartphones sold domestically this year would be foldable.
Industry experts note that despite challenging conditions such as the global economic downturn, the pre-orders for Flip5 and Fold5 performed remarkably well, and they predict that Samsung Electronics' annual sales of foldable smartphones, including Flip5 and Fold5, will comfortably exceed 10 million units.
This year, the domestic pre-order ratio for Flip5 to Fold5 is approximately 7 to 3. Last year, the global sales ratio for Flip4 to Fold4 was about 6 to 4. This indicates that Flip sales have relatively increased this year.
