Gimhae City to Build Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Jinyeong Area as Well

Planned Completion in 2026, Investment of Approximately 17.5 Billion KRW, 5,000㎡ Scale

Gimhae City in Gyeongnam Province plans to build the Jinyeong Area Comprehensive Social Welfare Center by 2026.

According to the city, the tentatively named Jinyeong Area Comprehensive Social Welfare Center will be constructed on a site of 5,000㎡ within the Jinyeong Hanbit Library grounds in Yerae-ri, Jinyeong-eup, with a total project cost of approximately 17.5 billion KRW.

Facilities for local seniors will include ▲group meal service center ▲health room ▲table tennis room ▲billiards room ▲fitness center, and for people with disabilities, ▲rehabilitation exercise room ▲physical therapy room ▲daycare center will be established.

Various program spaces for local residents are also planned.

Gimhae City currently has a total of seven welfare centers: three senior comprehensive welfare centers, two disability comprehensive welfare centers, one comprehensive social welfare center, and one social welfare center, all located in the dong (urban) areas, which has led to ongoing calls for facilities in the eup and myeon (town and township) areas.

Mayor Hong Taeyong made the construction of the Jinyeong Area Comprehensive Welfare Center, located in the eup and myeon area with the largest population, one of the key pledges of the 8th local government administration and has been promoting it.

The city announced that it completed the final report meeting for the feasibility study and basic plan establishment for the comprehensive welfare center construction on the 4th, and plans to proceed with local finance investment review, urban planning facility changes, and architectural planning and design thereafter.

Mayor Hong said, “We will proceed with the construction of the comprehensive social welfare center, a long-cherished wish of the Jinyeong area residents, without any setbacks as planned, and create a cultural welfare town where the library and the comprehensive social welfare center are concentrated.”
