"Heatwave, Go Away"... Goryeong-gun's 'Daegaya Splendid Summer' Water Festival

A delightful water festival to beat the midsummer heat was held in Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk.

From the 2nd to the 5th, Goryeong-gun hosted the event "The Splendid Summer of Daegaya Saenghwalchon" for residents and tourists during the vacation season.

The event was organized by the Goryeong-gun Tourism Council under the sponsorship of Goryeong-gun. It is an annual event held as part of the "History Gyeongbuk Project" to revitalize the three major cultural zones of Gyeongbuk.

Tourists visiting the "Splendid Summer at Daegaya Saenghwalchon" event are enjoying the bubble party.

Using the existing water playground and floating stage within Daegaya Saenghwalchon, a variety of programs were prepared, including a water gun battle, a fantastic bubble party using bubble cannons, a song festival, various busking performances, big balloon art, and bubble art shows.

Additionally, snack bars and food trucks operated at the venue provided jobs for business owners and operators. Visitors enjoyed health experiences, diverse food options, and lively performances amid the ongoing heatwave.

On the final day of the event, the 5th, various activities took place such as the "Midsummer Night’s Song Festival," a "Color Show Performance," and a "Midsummer Night’s Treasure Hunt" to find hidden golden coins throughout Daegaya Saenghwalchon.

Kim Yong-hyun, chairman of the Goryeong-gun Tourism Council, said, “Many families visited the event site daily to enjoy the summer vacation and holiday season. We focused on safety and hygiene management to ensure that tourists visiting Goryeong could momentarily forget the heatwave and have a joyful memory trip.”
