Selected as the highest grade ‘S Grade’ among Seoul’s autonomous districts, securing a special grant of 35 million KRW
Received a perfect score in evaluation for efforts to achieve goals through systematic preparation
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Junhee) has been honored with the highest grade ‘S Grade’ among Seoul’s autonomous districts in the '2023 Government Joint Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
Accordingly, the district secured a special grant of 35 million KRW as a financial incentive.
The Government Joint Evaluation is a system in which the Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluates local governments across 17 metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide on state delegated tasks, national subsidy projects, and major national policies carried out over the past year.
The evaluation method involved Seoul selecting 40 quantitative and qualitative indicators for its 25 autonomous districts based on the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s evaluation, assessing each district’s goal achievement and effort levels.
In this evaluation, the district received favorable reviews in areas closely related to residents’ daily lives, such as ▲achievement of independence for out-of-school youth ▲efforts to support multicultural families ▲expansion of street nameplates ▲amount of recyclable resources separated per resident. In particular, it received a perfect score in the qualitative evaluation (effort), recognizing the district’s dedicated efforts to improve residents’ quality of life through policy implementation.
This result came from the district’s systematic preparation for the evaluation, including establishing countermeasures for each evaluation indicator and holding progress report meetings every month to manage performance thoroughly.
Based on this evaluation result, the district plans to conduct a detailed analysis of causes in some underperforming areas, prepare improvement measures, and continuously discover excellent projects to achieve even better results next year.
District Mayor Park Junhee stated, “We will continue to do our best so that residents can feel positive changes and improve their quality of life in all areas of district administration, including economy, safety, welfare, and culture.”
