Gochang-gun Conducts Jamboree Extracurricular Activities... Experience Traditional Instruments and More

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, has officially launched the '2023 World Scout Jamboree Off-site Program Activities.'


On the 3rd, according to the county, youth from around the world enjoyed various experiential programs at Gochang Eupseong, including fortress trekking, traditional musical instruments, calligraphy, tea ceremony, and traditional clothing experiences.


At Seonunsa Temple, participants experienced temple trekking to feel the tranquility of the temple, tea ceremony, K-pop dance, and adventure forest activities.

The county is paying special attention to conducting the programs amid the heatwave.


They have also secured indoor spaces, installed water fans and water tunnels, and placed water purifiers in each area to provide a constant supply of drinking water.


County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, "The most important thing in this event is to imprint that Gochang, a World Heritage city, exists within South Korea," adding, "We will do our best until the end so that the Jamboree participants can enjoy themselves despite the heat and remember Gochang as a place of memorable experiences they want to revisit."


Meanwhile, the off-site program activities held during the Jamboree are prepared to allow participants to see and feel the unique characteristics of major tourist attractions in 14 cities and counties within the province. The program runs for a total of eight days from the 2nd to the 5th and from the 7th to the 10th.
