The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold the "2023 High School Student Mock Trial Competition" on the 3rd at 2 p.m. in the Grand Courtroom (Room 305) of the Busan Family Court in Yeonje-gu, with students from three high schools in the Busan area participating.
This competition involves conducting a mock trial on the topic of juvenile delinquency cases to raise awareness about the seriousness of juvenile delinquency issues and ways to address them, as well as to enhance youths' understanding of judicial procedures and foster a sound legal consciousness.
The event is jointly hosted by the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education and the Busan Family Court, with sponsorship from the Busan Bar Association. The participating teams are from Busan International High School, Haneol High School, and Busan Munhwa Girls' High School.
The Busan Office of Education will comprehensively evaluate the teams in the finals based on script fidelity, appropriateness of trial proceedings, presentation skills, and audience engagement to select the award-winning teams.
The grand prize winner will receive a certificate and a cash prize of 400,000 KRW, the gold prize winner will receive a certificate and 300,000 KRW, and the silver prize winner will receive a certificate and 200,000 KRW. Additionally, each team's supervising teacher will be awarded a commendation from the Superintendent of Education.
