Busan Gijang-gun is recruiting new students for the Gijang Hub English Center's fall semester, which will run from September 1 to November 24.
The recruitment targets are students from 2nd grade elementary school to 3rd grade middle school based on the 2023 academic year, as well as adults. New students participating in the fall semester must take a level test before attending classes.
The level test is scheduled to be held from the 14th to the 16th for those who apply between the 7th and 11th. Registration for current students will be conducted separately from the 8th to the 18th.
Registration and the level test will be conducted 100% online, and detailed registration methods can be found on the website.
The Gijang Hub English Center is an English education program operated by Gijang-gun since 2009 with the goal of nurturing global talents. The program offers practical English conversation classes taught by professional native speakers five days a week. The tuition fee per person is 35,000 KRW (40,000 KRW for adults).
This hub English center will operate at a total of five locations: Gijang Education Happiness Town, Gijang Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Jeonggwan-eup Education Happiness Center, Wolnae Welfare Center, and Ilgwang Hub English Center, with 16 native-speaking instructors deployed.
A Gijang-gun official stated, “We will actively support the Gijang Hub English Center so that it can improve the English education environment within the district and serve as a foothold for nurturing global talents in the region.”
