On the 25th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that six people, including the head of the Hyangchon Welfare Division, recently visited Nam-gu and Buk-gu offices in Gwangju to review various models of integrated care and Hyangchon welfare projects.
The Damyang-type Hyangchon Integrated Care is a welfare service that integrally provides housing, medical care, nursing, and caregiving so that elderly people in need of care can live comfortably in the place where they currently reside, rather than in hospitals or facilities.
During this visit, they discussed the Gwangju-type integrated care promotion system, shared best practices of integrated support projects for elderly medical care, and talked about the management system of home medical centers and visiting medical support centers, as well as the selection of care recipients.
The Hyangchon Welfare Division aims to realize Hyangchon welfare, a core policy of the 8th local government administration, through enhancing the functions of nursing homes and day care centers to improve the quality of life of residents, creating a living environment for healthy elderly people to live comfortably, and providing various supports to alleviate the economic burden on their children.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no stated, “We will actively provide high-quality elderly welfare services to ensure the health and safety of elderly people in a super-aged society and contribute to fulfilling the Hyangchon welfare promised to the residents.”
