"Green Cross MS, No.1 Domestic Hemodialysis Solution Provider, Invests 4.4 Billion KRW to Establish Powder-Type Line"

GC Green Cross MS announced on the 25th that it will invest 4.4 billion KRW in the expansion of its powder-type hemodialysis solution production plant currently underway in Eumseong-gun, Chungbuk, as of the 24th.

GC Green Cross MS has been constructing a new manufacturing line for powder-type hemodialysis solution at its Eumseong Plant 2 since last year. At that time, the investment amount was 3.66 billion KRW, which was below the mandatory disclosure threshold, but due to process automation and other factors, the investment amount recently increased to 4.39 billion KRW, prompting the disclosure. The completion is targeted for July next year, with plans to start product shipments in the second half of the year.

GC Green Cross MS is currently developing and selling hemodialysis solutions such as 'HD-Sol BCGA.' The newly expanded manufacturing line will produce powder-type hemodialysis solutions. Compared to existing products, these have smaller volume and lighter weight, making transportation easier and improving user convenience, thereby addressing the shortcomings of existing liquid formulation products.

In particular, the domestic powder-type hemodialysis solutions are currently entirely dependent on imports, making the market conditions favorable, according to analysis. Through this, GC Green Cross MS aims to achieve stable sales and increased profit margins.

A GC Green Cross MS representative said, “GC Green Cross MS produces about 50% of the hemodialysis solution market,” adding, “We will strive to increase our market share in hemodialysis solutions through the sales of powder-type products, aiming for continuous annual sales growth and improved profit margins.”

Meanwhile, GC Green Cross MS has been operating the Eumseong Plant 2, the largest hemodialysis solution plant in Korea, since 2020. The plant site covers approximately 22,000㎡ and can produce 4.1 million hemodialysis solutions annually. This is said to be capable of producing more than half of the domestic supply of hemodialysis solutions.
