Ascendio announced on the 21st that it will produce the new KBS1 TV daily drama 'Udangtangtang Family' in collaboration with the drama production company Monster Union.
Ascendio plans to further strengthen its drama production capabilities by participating in serial drama production. Starting with 'KBS Drama Special 2022' last year, Ascendio produced KBS variety shows 'Second House 1, 2,' gaining recognition for its excellent production capabilities, and plans to continue cooperation by leveraging this know-how.
'Udangtangtang Family,' produced by Ascendio and Monster Union, is a cheerful and comedic family drama about a couple who separated as enemies 30 years ago but reunite as in-laws through their children's love, washing away old conflicts and resentments to become a true family.
Jeon Hye-jun, Head of Production at Ascendio, said, "Ascendio will expand its K-content production portfolio from focusing on film investment and production, such as the hit movies Crime City and Gangneung, to drama production. Starting with this daily drama production, we will increase the number of productions and have a diverse lineup of genres waiting in the second half of the year, continuing meaningful growth." He added, "Along with excellent works, the cast and directing lineup are outstanding, so high viewership ratings are expected."
Meanwhile, the new KBS1 TV daily drama 'Udangtangtang Family' is scheduled to premiere in September.
