Regarding the Statement on the Involvement of the People Power Party in the Seocho Elementary School Teacher Incident
The People Power Party announced on the 21st that they will file a complaint against broadcaster Kim Eo-jun, who mentioned that a three-term lawmaker from the People Power Party was involved in the case where an elementary school teacher was found dead in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
The People Power Party Media Legal Team plans to submit a complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the morning of the same day, accusing Kim Eo-jun of defamation by spreading false information (violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.).
According to the Media Legal Team, on the 20th, Kim said on his YouTube show "Kim Eo-jun's News Factory" regarding the elementary school teacher's suicide case, "It is known that a current politician is involved in the matter," "I understand it is a three-term lawmaker from the People Power Party, but there has been no coverage at all," and "The real name of the involved lawmaker will soon be revealed, and I believe it will cause a huge impact."

In relation to this, Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, wrote on his Facebook on the same day, "Kim Eo-jun, the 'lie factory' who spreads fake news every time he opens his mouth, shamelessly lied on his broadcast that the cause of the elementary school teacher's extreme choice was a three-term lawmaker from the People Power Party. This fake news is still posted without any correction," and added, "We will declare war on fake news."
He pointed out, "The Democratic Party has habitually repeated blatant lies such as the Cheongdam-dong drinking party incident and the Cambodia lighting incident. These recurring 'fake news' from the Democratic Party have ultimately become 'seeds of malice' that are bruising the entire country." As examples of 'fake news,' he cited suspicions that a luxury bag was hidden inside First Lady Kim Geon-hee's eco bag and rumors about Fukushima contaminated water, emphasizing, "The source of all these is the Democratic Party."
Furthermore, Leader Kim said, "I and our People Power Party will restore the abnormal society bruised by fake news and rumors to normal," and "We will surely bring Kim Eo-jun, who repeatedly incites the public with lies, to the stern judgment of the law."
