On the 6th and 13th of last month, Uljin County in Gyeongbuk held the Uljin County Good Morning Thursday Special Lectures in the county office's large conference room, attended by over 150 people including senior officials, staff, and residents.
The Uljin County Good Morning Thursday Special Lectures select one topic each month and invite experts from various fields to study on Thursday mornings. This event has now reached its 11th session.
In the lecture on the 6th, Professor Kim Jun-woo from the Department of Architecture at Daegu University gave a lecture titled "Uljin Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex and Strategies to Address the Crisis of Local Extinction," discussing the necessity of the nuclear hydrogen national industrial complex in Uljin County and plans for successful linkage and development.
On the 13th, Professor Choi Jong-ho from the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Energy Engineering at Kyungil University delivered an enthusiastic lecture titled "Hydrogen Mobility: Present and Future," explaining why hydrogen energy is needed, why Uljin is the optimal location for the hydrogen industry, plans to foster Uljin County’s nuclear hydrogen industry through clean hydrogen production, and the creation of a Net-zero City through these efforts.
County Governor Son Byung-bok, who attended the lectures, stated, "Nuclear hydrogen, the only answer to the carbon-neutral era, is an infinite growth engine that will be responsible for our county’s next hundred years," adding, "I hope this event served as an opportunity to share Uljin County’s vision of developing into a strong small city where people gather and jobs abound, becoming a global hydrogen economy hub and a leader in Korea’s carbon-neutral era through fostering the nuclear hydrogen industry."
The Good Morning Thursday Special Lectures can be rewatched on Uljin County’s official YouTube channel (Gyeongbuk Uljin County), and the 12th and 13th sessions will be held in the upcoming September with more interesting and beneficial topics.
