At around 7:53 a.m. on the 15th, smoke occurred at the Daechi Station platform on Seoul Subway Line 3, causing trains to pass through without stopping for about 40 minutes.
The fire department deployed 81 firefighters and 19 pieces of equipment and extinguished the fire inside 24 minutes after it broke out, at 8:17 a.m.
Seoul Metro announced on its website at 9:07 a.m. that day, "Smoke occurred at the Daechi Station platform. The situation has now been resolved, and trains on both directions are operating normally."
According to the fire department and Seoul Metro, a report was received that smoke was rising from the air purifier at the Daechi Station platform in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, that morning.
As a result, trains in both directions passed through Daechi Station without stopping, but normal operation resumed from 9:07 a.m.
