Gwangyang City Council, Opening of the Extraordinary Session

Review of Agenda Items Including Ordinance Proposals, Local Issues, and Administrative Questions

The Gwangyang City Council (Chairman Seo Young-bae) opened the 1st plenary session of the 320th extraordinary meeting on the 13th and began an 8-day legislative schedule until the 20th.

During this extraordinary meeting, a total of 9 agenda items will be handled, including 7 ordinances and 2 general matters, with city administration questions scheduled for the 19th and 20th.

On the first day of city administration questions, the 19th, Councilors Baek Seong-ho, Jo Hyun-ok, and Ahn Young-heon will ask questions, and on the second day, the 20th, Councilors Kim Bo-ra, Jeong Hoe-gi, and Kim Jeong-im will raise questions regarding overall city administration.

Key agenda items include the ordinance on support for the collection of agricultural waste in Gwangyang City, proposed by Councilor Jo Hyun-ok, as well as the ordinance on the pilot implementation and establishment operation of the Gwangyang City Residents' Autonomy Association, the partial amendment ordinance on the operation and management of the Gwangyang City Disaster Management Fund, among 7 ordinances in total, and 2 general matters including the consent for private consignment of the Gwangyang City Social Welfare Meal Management Support Center and the consent for private consignment of the Together Care Centers (Gwangyeong, Wau LH).

Chairman Seo Young-bae stated, "Since the opening of the 9th council last year, we have continuously strived to acquire expertise and practical capabilities for legislative activities as servants chosen by the citizens for one year." He added, "We will continue to prioritize citizens' happiness and the development of Gwangyang City as our foremost values and do our best without losing our original intention as local workers."
