Busan City Holds the 12th Population Day Commemoration Event Poster for the 12th Population Day Commemoration Event.

Marking its 12th year, this year's event will proceed in the order of awarding contributors to population policy, commemorative speeches, invited lectures, and presentations of best practices for the Local Extinction Response Fund.

This year’s population policy awardees include High Birth 365, Kim Jin-hee, Deputy Manager of the Busan Branch of the Korea Population, Health and Welfare Association, and Kim Jae-min, Officer of the 2030 Planning Team at Dong-gu Office.

'High Birth 365' is an organization that has contributed to overcoming low birth rates in the Busan area by promoting various campaigns to tackle low birth rates. Deputy Manager Kim Jin-hee contributed to creating a birth-friendly environment by supporting maternal examinations. Officer Kim Jae-min was recognized for his contributions to population policy implementation, including discovering projects for the Local Extinction Response Fund.

Notably, this event will feature a lecture by Professor Jeon Young-su of Hanyang University Graduate School of International Studies, who appeared on the broadcasts "15 Minutes to Change the World" and "Future Class." The lecture, titled "Population Crisis and Localism - Busan's Choice," aims to raise awareness and interest in population issues and help discover differentiated regional specialized projects.

Following this, there will be a presentation of best practices on the Busan-type tourism vacation remote work (workation) activation project, which is being promoted with the Local Extinction Response Fund to harmonize Work, Life, and Play for a free working lifestyle (Work-Life balance).

Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, "I hope this Population Day event will serve as an opportunity to increase citizens' understanding and interest in population issues," adding, "Our city will continue to actively strive to create a population-vitality city, Busan, where work-life balance is achieved and all citizens are happy."
