The Korea Manhwa Webtoon Academy is a project planned to be established and operated by the agency in 2024 to discover and educate the next generation of cartoonists who will lead the Korean manhwa industry.

This 'Korea Manhwa Webtoon Academy Level-Up Camp' was designed as a pilot training program to review the academy’s main educational method, creative mentoring, and to promote the academy’s project to rookie and prospective writers, who are the target trainees.

The camp will feature a total of seven mentors, including HUN, the author of the webtoon "Nabillera," Kim Song, the author of "Michelin Star," Shin Euicheol, the author of "Sidekick," and Shim Yoonsoo, the author of "The History of Jjijil," who will provide mentoring on the planning and development stages of works.

The camp will accept a total of 20 participants: 10 prospective writers who have not yet debuted and 10 rookie writers who are planning their second or third follow-up works after debut. Final participants for the Level-Up Camp will be selected through a first round of document screening, which reviews the project proposals and storyboards of the planned works, and a second round of interviews.

Applications will be accepted from the 25th to the 31st of this month, and participation is free of charge. Selected participants will attend the camp for 6 nights and 7 days from August 24 to 30.

Shin Jongcheol, President of the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency, said, "This camp will serve as an opportunity to showcase the educational program of the Korea Manhwa Webtoon Academy, which is scheduled to operate in 2024, and to promote the academy’s project." He added, "We will continue to provide various support for new writers so that new webtoons capable of advancing not only domestically but also globally can be continuously created."
