Sold Over 3,000 Units in Regions Including North America and Europe
Samsung Electronics' premium gaming monitor, the 'Odyssey OLED G9,' is gaining popularity in major countries around the world.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 10th that more than 3,000 units were sold as pre-orders for the Odyssey OLED G9 were conducted sequentially starting from North America and Europe, followed by domestic, China, and Southeast Asia regions. In North America, the initial 1,800 units prepared were sold out in less than two weeks. In Europe, 700 units were sold, and in Korea, 100 units were completely sold out within an hour during the Naver Shopping Live held on the 26th of last month.
The Odyssey OLED G9 is a 49-inch gaming monitor that applies dual QHD high resolution (based on OLED panel) for the first time in the world. It is equipped with the Neo Quantum Processor Pro and supports AI upscaling that automatically adjusts screen brightness and contrast. Samsung Electronics explains that this enables vivid game play.

To commemorate the official launch of the product, Samsung Electronics will hold a live commerce broadcast on Samsung.com at 6 PM on the 10th. Famous professional gamer Faker will appear on the broadcast to introduce the 2023 gaming monitors, including the Odyssey OLED G9.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics’ 5K ultra-high resolution monitor for graphic design, the 'ViewFinity S9,' which started domestic pre-sales on the 26th, sold all 100 units prepared within three days. This product is notable for being the first monitor to feature 'Smart Calibration,' allowing users to adjust the monitor’s color and brightness to desired values using a smartphone.
Jung Hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, said, "We will continue to introduce various lineups and lead the rapidly growing premium gaming monitor market." Market research firm IDC reported that Samsung Electronics ranked first in the global gaming monitor market with a 23% share by value in the first quarter for monitors with a refresh rate of 100 Hertz (Hz) or higher.
